The fine print

Still connected to the grid. You are still connected to the utility grid and would be expected to pay a small fixed monthly rate, considered the standard connection fee.
Ameren Illinois rates are moving. Ameren is raising rates about 20% this year, and that increase is already reflected in the starting bill above. Residential rates are already up roughly 94% since 2021, from about 8 cents to 15.5 cents per kWh, and the supply portion alone went from 8.769 cents to about 11 cents this June. The drivers are ICC approved delivery increases and a sharp rise in regional capacity prices. Past increases do not guarantee future ones.
